There are several ways I learned to read the Tarot. First I bought a deck of cards, duh... lol. Then I looked at the definition in the mini book it came with. It wasn't very thorough or helpful, lol.
I also searched online looking for different tarot websites that would further enhance my knowledge such as www.learntarot.com. But I still had a hard time remembering all of the meanings in their upright & reversed positions as well as how each meaning could change slightly when paired up with other cards in a reading.
But the most efficient & fastest way I learned to read the Tarot was through this online site-Ultimate Online Tarot Reading Course!! It was fabulous! The Tarot instructor uses multimedia technology such as mp3 Tarot meditations in which you can listen to anytime or anywhere because you won't hear her speak the meanings, but your subconscious mind will remember them. All you will hear are the binaural beats!
She also uses brainwave entrainment that puts you in a meditative state as you look at each tarot animation image on her website with a brief meaning of each in their upright & reversed positions. You will also hear her speak each meaning as well. You can also download the meanings of each card too as well as view her how- to-videos. I swear to you the meanings of those cards came alive! You can also read my testimonial on her website-to view scroll down.
After taking this course, I wanted to find a way to practice giving readings online. That's when I found Biddy Tarot! For a nominal fee (at the time it was $39 for life but now it's changed to $39 every 6 months), you received a Student Tarot Starter Kit (manual) which you can download and print out. You also have the option to join the Student Tarot Readers Group on Facebook for questions & support. You set up your own profile & learn to read like a professional & do as many readings as you like each week for people who visit the website and request a free reading. All readings must be done within 7 days and feedback is required.
The website owner of Biddy Tarot also wrote several books on the Tarot. I bought, The Ultimate Guide To Tarot Card Meanings (only available as an e-book). I highly recommend this book! She gives a description of each card in general, the meanings of each card in their upright positions, reversed, as well as what each card means in a career/financial reading, relationship reading, health & spiritual reading. She also refers to each card in numerology, tarot card combinations, & Tarot sample spreads. The only problem that I had with this book is that it's over 300 pages & it used up alot of ink & paper when I decided to print it out. Printing the book is optional-of course!I also own the books, The Easiest Way to Read the Tarot-Ever!! and How to Use Tarot Spreads 1997 version.
At this time, I only use the The Rider Tarot-Waite Tarot Deck when reading for myself or others. I also own a Pocket Rider-Waite Tarot Deck.
I enjoy using the regular sized tarot card deck and keep them in a wooden box which I painted purple and gold. Why? I don't know, lol. I thought it would look pretty in those colors and felt I was being creative! I also place a small clear quartz crystal on top of the cards when they are stored in the box to keep their vibration high!

Daisy
